Day 01: Delhi - Agra
Upon arrival in Delhi, met by our representative and transfer to Agra(200 kms/4 hours) .Agra is a city
on the banks of the Yamuna River in the northern state
of Uttar Pradesh, India. It finds mention in the epic
Mahabharata when it was called Agrabana, or Paradise.Ptolemy, the famous 2nd century geographer, marked it on his map of the world as Agra. |

Tradition and legend ascribe the present city of
Raja Badal Singh (around 1475) whose Fort, Badalgarh, Stood on
or near the site of the present Fort. However, the 12th century
Persian poet Salman writes of a desperate assault on the
fortress of Agra, then held by one King Jaipal, by Sultan Mahmud
of Ghazni. It was ruled by Sultan Sikandar Lodi in the year
1506. It achieved fame as the capital of the Mughal emperors
from 1526 to 1658and remains a major tourist destination because
of its many splendid Mughal-era buildings, most notably the Taj
Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri, all three of which are
UNESCO World Heritage Sites, go for local sightseeing including
Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel.

Day 02: Agra - Fatehpur Sikri- Delhi
OPTION :Get up early. An early morning sunrise visit to Taj Mahal is possibly the best time time catch the best view of this while marble monument. Taj Mahal looks wonderful at the sunrise and sunset time. The changing hues of Taj Mahal shall enchant your eye for sure. After exploring Taj Mahal return back to Hotel for Breakfast. Later drive to Fatehpur Sikri, approximately a little over an hour's drive. Constructed by Emporer Akbar between 1570 -1585 A.D. |

this red sandstone city houses many impressive architectural monuments. Most remarkable among these are the towering Buland Darwaza, the exquisite marble tomb of Salim Chishti (the Muslim mystic who gave his blessings to Emperor Akbar for a son), Panch Mahal, Jodha Bai's Palace, Birbal Bhavan and the unique checkered Pachisi Court.
Here you will have time free for your Lunch in a Restaurant.
Now is the time to finish your overnight Agra tour & drive back to Delhi through the picturesque countryside.
On arrival in Delhi, you shall be transferred to your hotel or any othe rpredesignated place for for a direct flight / train connection for onward journey ahead. |
