About Umaid
Bhawan Palace
Umaid Bhawan Palace, an impressive and magnificent golden-yellow
sandstone edifice in the heart of Jodhpur, stamps a commanding
presence. Set amidst 26 acres of lush gardens, the Art Deco style
palace was the last of India's great palaces and was one of the
largest private residences in the world. A part of the palace is
still the residence of the royal family and another section houses a
museum displaying a range of antiques from Jodhpur's royal past.
Designed by the renowned Edwardian architect Henry Lanchester and
embellished with exotic murals of the self-exiled Polish artist
Stefan Norblin, the palace is a blend of Eastern and Western
architectural influences. The luxurious bathtubs, swimming pool,
murals and gardens add to its beauty to its majestic architecture.
Among the finest palace hotels in the world, Umaid Bhawan Palace
offers guests a privileged royal lifestyle experience. The airport
is 5 kms away, and the railway station 5 kms. |
